One Big Step Towards Green Exports!
Atma Jaya Catholic University, in
collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Trade and the Erasmus+ ECoGREEN
Consortium, successfully held a training and mentoring session titled
"Sustainability Business & Reporting for Export-Ready MSMEs" on
August 6, 2025.
This event marked the beginning of the
journey of 10 innovative Indonesian MSMEs in building sustainable business
models and penetrating the global export market. Participants came from
eco-friendly sectors such as tourism villages, environmental monitoring drones,
waste management, natural home décor, local culinary arts, circular fashion,
and products made from plastic waste.
The keynote speaker for this event was Ms.
Fajarini Puntodewi, Director General of National Export Development, Ministry
of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. Opening remarks were given by Dr.
Christina Juliana, CPMA, Asean CPA, CertDA, and Dr. jur. Sih Yuliana
Wahyuningtyas, SH, MHum, Head of LPPM UAJ.
A total of 12 mentor lecturers, 10 FEBUAJ
student facilitators, and 10 MSMEs participated in two intensive training
sessions designed to strengthen sustainability-based export readiness. The
first session, "Sustainability Business," led by Dr. Lina Salim
(FEBUAJ), aimed to build MSME awareness of global trends and the importance of
green business transformation. The second session, "Sustainability
Reporting," was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Natalia Yeti Puspita, SH, MHum
(FHUAJ), Dr. Adji Pratikto, and Dr. Almatius Setya Marsudi, SE, Akt, MSi, CA,
CSRS, CSRA (FEBUAJ), equipped MSMEs with the skills to prepare sustainability
reports as strategic documents to support export market access oriented towards
social and environmental responsibility.
This program not only involves students as
facilitators but also as visual storytellers documenting the entire mentoring
process. Each video is designed to showcase the MSME profile and its
sustainability practices, mentoring interactions and direct assistance in the
field, the process of preparing the Sustainability Report, and testimonials and
reflections from MSMEs and mentors. This documentation is a crucial part of
demonstrating the program's tangible impact and inspiring the transformation of
other MSMEs toward sustainability and export readiness.
By the end of the program in September
2025, significant outputs will have been produced, including 10 Sustainability
Reports ready to be used as supporting documents for MSME exports, 10 inspiring
documentary videos documenting the transformation journey of each MSME, and a
45-minute compilation video showcasing the entire mentoring and collaboration
process. In addition to actively engaging students in real-world practices of
sustainability-based community development, this activity also demonstrates the
strong synergy between the government, universities, and MSMEs in building a
greener, more inclusive, and globally competitive economic future.
