Biography


Dr.rer.pol. A.Y. Agung Nugroho is Head of Department of MBA Program, former Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and  Dean of the School of Business Administration at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, Jakarta. He is a senior lecturer majoring at Marketing, both in Undergraduate and Graduate Program. He took his Bachelor Degree in Public Administration and Master of Management Degree from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. His Doctoral  Degree in Business Administration was received from University of Rostock, Germany.

Apart from his teaching in Indonesia, Dr. Nugroho is also a Visiting Professor in International Business and Cross Cultural Management in the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, Bavaria and Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, Germany, as well as in University of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Tainan, ROC. He is also Vice Chairman of the Association of the Indonesian Business Administration Studies (AIABI), member of the Association of the Indonesian Administration Sciences Scholar (ASPA-Indonesia), and the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP).

His current research interests focus on Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Retailing and Corporate Social Responsibility, in particularly in relation to small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. He is now working on a market research in retail business sector funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia with a multi-year research grant (2011-2012). His current research activities are Survey on customer’s affordability of the drink water service in Jakarta and Monitoring and Evaluation of the Ministry of Manpower’s project in NTT Province.

He wrote a book chapter on retailing business as co-author, published by Routledge Studies in International Business and the World Economy titled “Retailing in Emerging Markets, A policy and strategy perspective” in September 2014.
